Shalini is one of the most renowned personalities in the field of cryptocurrency. She has now and in the past been vocal about her view on crypto regulations in India. She runs a Telegram channel called Indian Crypto Updates where she gives her viewers an update on the latest market trends in the crypto trading world. Let's hear her views on the subject

cryptopossible: Can you tell us how you got introduced to cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple etc?

Shalini: I got into it by chance! A friend of mine who is an ethical hacker got paid in bitcoin after he exposed a vulnerability. We then started reading more about what Bitcoin is and the rest is history.

cryptopossible: What's the current state of RBI v/s Crypto case?

Shalini: The arguments are finished after a long hard fought case. All that remains is the final judgement which could be rules by Supreme Court over the next few weeks.

cryptopossible: Why should the Indian government regulate cryptocurrencies?

Shalini: Crypto will create Millions of foreign investment, thousands of jobs and innovation in fintech. To become a global power, India needs its law to catch up to the speed of innovation.

cryptopossible: Are cryptocurrencies banned in India?

Shalini: Crypto is not and has never been banned in India. Only banks and financial institutions are prohibited from dealing in Crypto. It is not illegal for people to invest or trade cryptocurrency in India.

cryptopossible: Are Indians allowed to own or trade cryptocurrencies?

Shalini: The right term here is alegal which means neither legal nor illegal.

cryptopossible: How to buy or sell cryptocurrencies in India?

Shalini: The most popular way is peer to peer crypto exchanges. Many P2P exchanges like Bitbns, Wazirx, Paxful etc. are available in India

cryptopossible: Is it safe to trade cryptocurrencies on a P2P trading platform?

Shalini: A P2P exchange, with the right precautions, is relatively safe. You have to ensure the person you are trading with has sufficient number of trades, a good reputation score and is responsive on chat (if available on the platform).

cryptopossible: Which P2P cryptocurrency trading platforms are present in India?

Shalini: WazirX, BitBnS are some of the Indian born P2P crypto exchanges, and many foreign players like Paxful are also entering the P2P space in India.
