As outlined by Reddit user AsianHouseShrew on a post on /r/xmrtrader, there currently is a lot to be bullish about Monero. We have seen decreasing volume on poloniex in the last week (under 10% of all trading volume), with the top markets currently being HitBTC (39,5%) and Bithumb (24,2%). But why is the trading volume decreasing?
One possible answer might be the availability of localmonero, but the more reasonable explaination might be, that Bitcoin is simply too volatile, and people want to keep their Monero rather than trading it around.
Here is an overview of the current status of Monero - as well as a commented overview on side-projects and other important milestones to come:
Adaptation and acceptance
Mobile Wallets / Monero is on it's way into Apple App Store and into Google Play Store. This means that the GUI for Mac OS X will be available on every Apple computer and the mobile version (via mymonero app) will be available for iOS and Android very soon. As outlined in the DevMeeting 2017-08-20 the approval from Apple, Google and Microsoft is soon to come.
Hardware Wallets / the Ledger Nano S is shortly before finishing Monero hardware wallet support, and the Monero community developed their own crowdfunding for a Monero Open Source Hardware wallet, which will be developed in 2017.
Coinomi Wallet seems to be almost finished with their Monero integration, so we are very short before seeing a lot of different supported new Wallets on the horizon, as their system is Open Source.
Technical developments
StringCT or RuffCT is an alternative to RingCT 2.0). This makes Monero the most secure and untraceable cryptocurrency.
MultiSig will be available in the upcoming release, as outlined in the DevMeeting 2017-08-20
AsianHouseShrew post on /r/xmrtrader points to a few other interesting examples, most notably that the FBI is not able to determine the amount of Moneroj in circulation (on the example of Alphabay). Another good source for Monero-related information is the Monero Observer, which has additional projects and community-based projects listed.
All in all, HODL or BUY, as there are big things to come in the coming weeks.
