In the beginning, until you can see the waves before even counting, try and count at least two ways in the same direction. It will help to find the fit count.

Do you mean buy early and sell late.. Yep know what you mean.
Look at the fan lines. The first one, super steep followed by a partial recovery. Then comes the second one - very interesting but duller with an angle. The third one is even flatter. I believe we are witnessing or coming close to a reversal point.
