Yesterday, Wall Street legend Mike Novogratz predicted a bitcoin price of $10,000 per coin by August of 2018. Formerly with the investment firm Fortress Investment Group, Mike went on to become a partner at Goldman Sachs. At present, Novogratz is raising $500 million to trade crypto-currencies. Earlier this year, 2017, Mike revealed that approximately 20% of his net worth was invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
So the multi-million (billion?) dollar question that all of Wall Street is asking today is, "Is Mike right?"
Let's explore what the cards -- configured in the Celtic Cross layout -- tell us.
Position 1:
In position 1 at the center of the cross we have the Three of Cups.
This card informs us that abundance and positive synergy is in the air. A sense of palpable excitement presently electrifies the crypto-sphere and it is clear that the whole world has its eye on this space.
Position 2:
In position 2 (covering the Three of Cups) we have The High Priestess.
The High Priestess is here as humanity's teacher. She is Isis, the one who sits between the pillars of knowledge. Her message is that we must be on our guard lest we fall for the siren song of the agents of doom and gloom. Powerful forces are now coming to bear on this emerging asset class and their intent is to confuse and cause doubt.
Position 3:
Position 3 gives us the Queen of Coins.
Situated at the top of the cross, this powerful card speaks to accumulation and wealth creation. So far, we have all female energy to guide us. This points to hidden wisdom, knowledge not yet known by the masses. It speaks to secretive cycles and profound changes whose effects only dawn on the general population after a period of darkness. It is imperative that we listen to and follow our intuition.
Position 4:
Position 4 is The Devil.
Located at the base of the cross, the foundation on which our question rests, is a card that signifies luxury and pleasure. Is this position, The Devil can represent a release from bondage to and obsession over financial concerns. His advice is to abandon indecision and fear and, thus liberated, go forth with confidence.
Position 5:
Position 5 is the Four of Swords.
Placed at the left of the cross we are informed that, at present, we are undergoing a time of restlessness and disharmony where the question is concerned. However, this is a passing phase that will, with patience, soon resolve itself. And while we are advised to relax, vigilance is also recommended so as to remain aware of our surroundings.
Position 6:
Position 6 presents us the card Strength.
Placed at the right of the cross, this reading yet again reveals the feminine soul-force that permeates this question of price appreciation. Here we find raw power, victory and the ability to face and overcome the opposition that is sure to come to any asset class that has the ability to alter the present financial power structure of the world.
Now that the cross is complete, we now move on to the staff of four cards that accompany the cross.
Position 7:
Position 7 shows us the card called Justice.
As the base of the staff, Justice speaks to events surrounding the question pertaining to unjust actions and motivations of some players in the space. Legal wranglings and Machiavellian machinations may make some hesitate to act due to the uncertainty they create in the minds of the public. When the air clears we will all be reminded of the karmic saying, "what goes around, comes around."
Position 8:
Position 8 gives us the Five of Wands.
The second card in the staff here amplifies what was shown by the previous card. Strife and competition in business are good and well, except when many innocent bystanders are potentially harmed by the actions of the few. However, since whenever money is involved there is sure to much jostling and jockeying for position, it is the wise person who watches and learns the ways of the nefarious.
Position 9:
Position 9 is Death.
Here, holding third position on the staff, we are shown the card that speaks strongly to the process of Rebirth and Transformation. A major change is indicated, one that can alter everything we have known, to date. Death in this position represents the harvesting of plenty, provided that we leave behind our old fears and old ways of living.
Position 10:
Position 10 is The Star.
Our final card is one of admonition and advice. Where it comes to BTC's price in the next 6-10 months, beware of doubt for it is the enemy.
As Frank Herbert wrote in his breathtaking novel Dune,
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
So is Mike right?
Based on the cards, my assessment is that Mr. Novogratz is spot-on and this bet will prove to be yet another winner in his already storied career!
