Will there be a next Bitcoin Cryptocurrency bull market?
I think the time where millions of people open cryptocurrency accounts is over.
Everyone who was remotely interested in it is already in it. Most of the people are actually selling because they need the money for expenses and they are not going to wait 10 years.
So unless there is a new clear development on the horizon instead of "just another coin"
there is not going to be any more growth in the market.
The next important date is in 2020 when there is another halving in Bitcoin.
The other important date will be the launch of the Kin cryptocurrency with the stellar fork.
The reason why kin is so important because it will show how Apple & Google will handle the Kin cryptocurrency in their app stores. It will decide whether this thing actually becomes a mass market.
I am guessing that google and apple will block kin in Apps but lets just wait and see.
Unless ripple or the IoT coins make huge big announcements with Fortune 100 companies there won't be much happening. Amazon has such a good partnership with their CC processors that they probably won't look into coins until the very end.
And lets face it. the only companies that can move the market now are:
Facebook
Apple
Google
Amazon
Everyone else just won't matter. Not even hedge funds or securities markets
Interesting perspective. You may be right, however I have a slightly different perspective. I think that the vast majority of people with crypto accounts are not at all interested in crypto or the technology and only got involved as the price went up. It was pure speculation and to a large degree still is. Look at the ridiculous amount of money being raised on ICOs with nothing more than an 8 page white paper!
However, if institutional money gets involved, all bets are off. The question is, will institutions buy coins hoping they go up, or invest in the actual companies developing the tech?
I think there is much less investment then people think.. also in terms of blockchain projects within companies. I think they are dabbling with it but not yet super serious. There are some very revolutionary ideas but the only thing that i have seen really works for consumers is Steemit & Bitcoin. Everything else is just tech play. For banks its of course great because they are saving money and just replacing swift with ripple etc.
