Craig Wright can take a cryptocurrency worth $7 billion, said Ira Kleiman, who is suing him. She explained why this would not happen
Dr. Craig Wright, who calls himself the Creator of bitcoin, already has the ability to open an encrypted file that contains the keys to a wallet with more than 820,000 BTC. This was stated by the legal team of Ira Kleiman, who is suing Wright for this cryptocurrency. The plaintiff believes that the defendant minted the coins in partnership with her late brother, Dave Kleiman.
Wright denies this, and this is the main reason why he will not open an encrypted file and take bitcoins, Kleiman is sure. Reason — it contains evidence of a partnership agreement between the defendant and the deceased.
"Wright's refusal to open the encrypted file indicates that he knows that the contents of the file have records of a partnership between Wright and Dave Kleiman, and that 820,000 BTC belong to the partners, along with blockchain — related intellectual property created before Dave's death," the case file says.
Kleiman added that Wright constantly uses perjury, falsified evidence and misleading documents to obstruct the case. In support of this, the plaintiff's team cites four examples, one of which occurred last week. The doctor's wife, who participated in the hearing, could have lied in support of him, since she is financially dependent on him, and the divorce document provided by the couple is fictitious, Kleiman is sure. The case will continue on July 6.
In 2018 Wright promised to destroy bitcoin after halving. The doctor planned to bring down the price of the coin with an order "the size of an iceberg", opening a short position using margin leverage.
