Bitcoin, CoinStar, Cryptocurrencies and Gaining Ground the Mainstream

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Even though it sometimes feels like the world is filled with naysayers and those who insist that cryptocurrencies are just "a scam," it does seem like the idea is very slowly making inroads into mainstream culture.

So yesterday, I was at my local Safeway grocery store, and what did I see... on the ubiquitous green "CoinStar" change sorter machine:

That's pretty damn middle-of-the-road!

This is where half the world goes to cash in the change lost between the couch cushions and the change on their night stand for pizza or grocery money.

Even if most of these people aren't necessary the customers for Bitcoin, just the idea that the name is being put in front of millions more people on a daily basis has to make a difference!

I am reminded of the "old days" of the Internet, when AOL would leave installation diskettes (Yes, I just said "diskette!") pretty much everywhere, including in your mailbox.

In the beginning, most people ignored them, because few people "trusted" the Internet. But all the same, AOL became a household concept as a result... and in time became the largest service provider on the planet, back in the days long before "everyone" was connected.

So I'd say this is a pretty good sign!

And — as I write these words — BTC just crossed above the $9,000 level for the first time since April 2018!

What do YOU think? Will things like Bitcoin now being sold through CoinStar machines help "mainstream" the whole idea of cryptos? Positive development? It's coming.
Slowly but steady.

Crypto is here to stay and to enter slowly into the mainstream.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

That is huge....I use coinstar for my change as do millions of others, except they don't own bitcoin...people are much more likely to buy some bitcoin with ther loose change.
