RE: BREAKING: South Korea Just Released The Bitcoin Bulls!

in #bitcoin5 years ago

Imho, the global adoption of cryptocurrencies will have a devastating effect on the dollar as the dominant reserve currency and the perks that come along with it. Among the perks, according to wikipedia, is that the US and its citizens save in excess of $100 billion per year. Besides the obvious savings, the US stands to lose out in terms of political and economic supremacy, if countries start ditching the dollar to conduct trade using cryptocurrencies. Although this may seem far-fetched now, wide adoption of cryptocurrencies will make this possible. Therefore, there is every reason for the US to be afraid of cryptocurrencies and they will do everything in their power to stop the rise of it.

I like your take on it, and I agree it could be an issue if it replaced Fiat, however I see it being used more as a store of value.

Perhaps you have not checked what Stellar Lumen can do. It can be used not only for remittances but for a whole gamut of other transactions, proving its value as a medium of exchange. Just check it out on https://stellarx.com, you will know what I am talking about. Its potential is hidden because not many people are into crypto and of those into crypto not many have fathomed its potential. As more and more dApps come on board stellar blockchain, it will become a game changer.
