15500 dollars for a bitcoin, that's a lot of money and some people speculate that it will hit 40000 and 100000 soon. That would be great for crypto investors like myself. But it actually isn't.

Bitcoin is the most expensive and energy hungry tech in crypto currency world. 2017 ends with bitcoin being in need of 31terawatt of power in a year. That is more than most of the countries in the world need, more than 150 countries to be exact. Even worst than that BTC is going to need more power than the world needs in order to run in 2020. That is stupid... Moreover there is no actual way to change that. Or i should say forks are trying to change that, but BTC consumes more that it ACTUALLY worths. So my personal opinion based not in economics but mostly based in preserving the needs of our kind is that BTC has to cease to exist, it created the beginning for a new kind of trading money and economic understanding. But it is not worth preserving. The other cryptos which in many cases are not ready to give what they promise but in the future are going to be, since they are updated frequently (something that BTC doesn't do) will be able to take it place in a very easy way. What is left is for the BTC to get out of the picture.
I am sorry to all those that do love BTC, i am a crypto enthusiast myself but i find the whole thing getting out of hand and actually becoming dangerous to our energy needs.

@diasdr I agree with you, Bitcoin brought with him a change that many wish him but at the same time also need great natural resources, that's why some people call him the primitive version.
Maybe in the future there will be a serious competitor to Bitcoin.
In the modern world everything is based on efficiency and yet economics doesnt, we seem to be primitive to our economical systems but BTC was the start and modernization is coming, i hope.
Bitcoin introduced us to the first use-case for blockchain technology.
It's legacy should highlight how much of a contribution that will be to the future and it's amazing runs should only highlight the excitement around the potential presented.
Once all of this new money coming in recognizes what altcoins are they will come running and this train will continue!
In the end it is about progressing the world not about progressing Bitcoin.
Cheers!
