This is an incredible complete guide! I am going to try bitstamp based on your recommendation, have only used coinbase up until this point for credit card transactions.

The fees for a credit card I believe are actually higher on BitStamp than Coinbase. With Coinbase not being available in a lot of countries and with me already having tutorials on Coinbase, I used BitStamp for this example. A wire transfer to my Coinbase USD wallet is my preferred method for buying because the limits are the highest and the fees are the lowest for a $1000+ transaction because it costs me about $30 to send a wire to Coinbase.
Excellent information, thanks for taking the time to figure this out, I think we all try to minimize fees and your in depth experience is invaluable.
