New bitcoin powered streaming platform Otika.TV launches into beta

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

On Sept 27th a new streaming platform launched into beta. Otika.TV is a new site where you can stream whatever you want as long as it's SFW. Many of you have probably heard of Xotika.TV the adult streaming platform. Well Otika.TV is the non-adult sister site of Xotika.TV. The adult platform launched first, but the SFW version of the site has been in the plans since nearly the beginning. The sites are nearly identical. Same code just different graphics. The interface art is still a work in progress. When I asked for a logo to do this post they didn't even have one yet so they gave me the Xotika one and told me to crop out the X. This is what I came up with:

I made a bunch of other versions for other sites and running advertisements. I'm taking gamble on the site being successful and making use of their referral program. Anyone you refer you get 2.5% of whatever they spend and earn on the site for life.

Now you might think what the site is so new it doesn't even have it's interface art done why would I use it. Well because it works for one. It's 10 times faster than Twitch with a delay of only 2-3 seconds or less depending on your internet. Getting in on the ground floor can be a good thing. You will also be able to get your user base setup and start earning. Bring your fan base over and start getting tipped in bitcoin.

So what would you stream on Otika.TV? Well pretty much anything you want. There are already people streaming games, talk, music, webinars and random activities. You can stream video blogs, arts and crafts, tech support, podcasts, anything you can think of. Heck I could have streamed myself making this post for steemit if I didn't have crappy internet. Have an idea? Give it a try. Here are a few of the people already streaming:

Ryswick playing League of Legends. He streams many different games and is currently the most active streamer. Still working on getting him on steemit.

Steemit's own RoyalTiffany playing some games as well. You can check out her blog here @royaltiffany

BigE singing country music live. We made him sing some other stuff too. He's on steemit too. You can find him at @bige37

Bitcoin Error Log testing his setup playing DOTA. Pretty sure he plans on streaming stuff other than games. His steemit handle is @bitcoinerrorlog

The site is also having a contest with bitcoin prizes for streamers. Here is the announcement from the official reddit sub:

Hear ye, hear ye! Come One, Come All to the Otika.TV Beta Launch Site Opening Contest. 300 Millibitcoin in Total Prizes for the Top Three Earning Channels.

As a way of kick starting the beta launch of Otika.TV, we, the administration of the site, are putting up three prizes to be handed out to whatever channels achieve the top three spots in earnings for the period of 2016-09-29 through 2016-10-15.

The #1 earning channel will receive a 150 millibitcoin payout, #2 a 100 millibitcoin payout, and #3 a 50 millibitcoin payout. Feel free to advertise your broadcast by whatever means you see fit, keep your channel online as much as you wish, pretty much do whatever you can to achieve the top spot (no assassinations or illegal type strategies please . . .).

As has become the norm on XOtika.TV, a weekly top 10 list of channels will be posted here on the Otika.TV subreddit.

The dates of the contest (inclusive) are 2016-09-29 through 2016-10-15, dates are determined using Universal Coordinated Time. Winners of the contest will be publicly announced via an Otika.TV subreddit post. Payment of prizes will be in the form of a deposit into the channel’s withdrawable affiliate wallet on Otika.TV, the funds will thus be available for immediate withdrawal.

Create a channel on Otika.TV now and start your bitcoin earning, live online streaming adventure.

Channel Earnings Position Prize Amount
1st Prize 150 mBTC (0.15 BTC)
2nd Prize 100 mBTC (0.10 BTC)
3rd Prize 50 mBTC (0.05 BTC)

So start streaming and maybe win some mBTC.

Almost left out the most important part. Steem is accepted. You can deposit steem via the shapeshift api. It's built right into the site:

Awesome man..! More services accepting STEEM / SBD the better!

You're using the same RTMP server as xotika? I've often thought about a similar thing with the infrastructure I've set up with my own video streaming sites under development. :)

I've actually got streemit.online under development and going to be announced here shortly. Which will allow users to tip others in SBD for streaming whatever. Glad to see you're also working on services that accept STEEM/SBD as well.

I really don't know anything about the setup. I'm just a member there.

Ah shoot sorry man.

I was under the impression you ran the sites. My bad. :/

Your not the first one to make that assumption. Think about the only one I haven't been accused of is being Satoshi.

Fub-Satoshi-Saaan!

Awesome bro! Now casting /steemcast chatting about steem and other cryptos.
