Yeah, I'm not as convinced that the Government hates Bitcoin as much as some people think. There are basically 2 theories in the conspiracy crowd. That the government will shut it down, or that the government (CIA or whatever) created Bitcoin so that we all go digital. The latter might be true but I won't digress.
Ya, and I think the "so we all go digital" thing could be sensational if maybe based on some truth.
Like, it's my understanding that the internet could have been built differently. but eventually you get a network effect where it isn't really worth going back to square 1, and this is what we use now.
So it could be the same thing where it's like knowing something like Bitcoin is coming, they're ahead of it and want to decide what specs it will have, rather than let it be made organically.
It could be benign like these exact specs make surveillance a little easier than other potential versions, but still Bitcoin would work entirely fine 100 years from now in a free and decentralized world and there isn't any fundamental "evil" or worry about it.
And if nothing else they want to control a big amount of them and probably have social influence in the space too. So it helps to be involved at every step.
So ya, I think the idea that the government dislikes Bitcoin is a knee jerk reaction, and in a way it's kind of self-involved or a bias or something. Like, Bitcoin came out of nowhere to me and to us. But to whatever powers that be are out there, they likely have understood this progression was coming and it didn't catch them off guard. They've been acting with Bitcoin in mind for a long time, most likely.
Like if it's true that there's this cadre of powerful bankers, you have to assume that they have access to data and simulations that are way beyond what we know. So it's like people believe they have this power, which would mean they're sophisticated enough to get to this position, but then downgrade them to like everyday putzes who must be shoestringing it together on the fly.

I feel like in general it could be that "they" are really only focused on other interests who all grapple for control, like they're just built to beat competitors and cash in more than they're diametrically opposed to you and me and all that's good in the world.
To a degree they way prefer that we're richer and better off, because we produce more for them.
If the trend is that China would have the reserve currency, it seems reasonable for US to want to decentralize currency. (Assuming US and China aren't just controlled by the same people.)
The government's interest can happen to be in step with our interest.
love the blockchain meme, lol
