Checking Out Request Network (REQ)

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Request Network is a name that I see popping up over and over again so I decided to check it out.

It aims to become the decentralized network for payment requests… and much more. Read on to find out what.

The Request Network works similar to Paypal, except decentralized. The problem with Paypal is that in order to have any rights with your transaction you need to pay fees. You can gift and not pay fees, but if something happens, you don’t have any recourse.

With Request a payment can be detected and paid without having to use a third party. It gets saved to the blockchain so it cannot be altered. And it can work with every global currency.

The Request Network has an opportunity to be much more powerful than just a payment network. And in doing so can ease some pain points for businesses today.

Specifically, by using Request Network and having all your transactions on an immutable ledger you can streamline your accounting and auditing work. Companies spend billions every year on accounting and auditing. With something like Request Network the whole process can be put on autopilot.

Another cool feature is that Request Network is using the Kyber Network for its gateways. This is how fiat currencies can be converted to crypto and vice versa. The best part is that you don’t need Request tokens to use Request. This will make it much easier for businesses and consumers to adopt the technology.

There’s a total of 1 billion REQ tokens with half released in the ICO. They’ll be used to pay fees to use the network and for governance.

Request Network plans its main launch sometime in the first quarter of 2018, keep your eye out for that.

They already have extensive relationships in the Ethereum community, including Kyber Network, Project 0x, Civic, Aragon, iExec, and Quantstamp.

Plus, it’s a YCombinator startup.

This project looks interesting, I bought some REQ as a small speculation.

That's a great post!
Thanks for share dear @g-dubs

Thanks!

Sounds like a nice service, might add some @binance, thanks for ze info!

It's so funny, you are always looking at more or less the same coins as I am. REQ kept going through my mind as well lately, wondering if this could be my OMG v.2. But I didn't bother researching it yet so this post was helpful.

But I decided to move away from the real alts and move into the more established coins instead (ETH/BTC/NEO/XMR/etc). I feel like I've had nice gains but it's time to cut down on wild bets and move more into secure bets. It's funny, as capital grows, you start to take less and less risk with it. In my case anyway.

Lol my plan has been similar to yours. I've been mostly selling alts and put into BTC and ETH and the like but did make a small spec in REQ.

Yeah I think the whole market is doing this, more or less. I get the feeling most investors go through the same phases.. and knowing yourself is a good way to know the market!

Looks like a good coin alright. I had looked in to it and liked the market that they were tapping in to, but haven't bought any to be honest. I think cryptos that focus on accounting, invoicing or anything of that sort have a relatively bright future ahead of them - automating real world tasks is something that cryptos (namely smart contracts and the blockchain rather than an actual cryptocurrency of course) can do very well.

Yea it's the automated accounting and auditing that has me interested.

Yep! There's one very interesting accounting one with passive income involved.. Not sure whether to put it in my blog, course or both but it might interest you, Will let you know if I cover it during the week!

Very informative post.
I just followed you dear @g-dubs

Thanks!

Thanks for the article! What do you think about OmiseGo? I believe if they can deliver plasma, many other projects will suffer from their success. Their vision has huge potential...

I like OMG. Plasma + SDK is out and their partners are working on developments. Should be interesting.

I've already resteemed it,
@racoo

Thanks for sharing this network, Here in Pakistan, Paypal is not available, so people face problem in transfering Their E-Money.
My question, it is also Available in Pakistan?
Waiting for your Kind Answer.
God Bless you :)

Honestly I have no idea what's available in Pakistan. A crypto that could solve your problem though is OMG. They're focused on SE Asia right now, but who knows it may be available in Pakistan in the future.

yeah, who knows :(
Thanks for your kind reply mate.

Would be actually interesting to find out which blockchain could be used in Pakistan, but more generally in the M-E. Didn't know that Paypal wasn't available there, Req could definitely be a nice one.

hey great post, have u ever thought creating your own ICO and cryptocurrency or do u think is it easy to do.. a post would be great on this..thanks alot

It's easy. There's services like ICOBox - https://icobox.io/ - that can help you launch.
As of now I have no plans to launch my own coin though.

Thank you for sharing that @g-dubs following you

Thanks!

I'm super bullish on REQ. Picked up a good chunk, then it 3x'd and I sold off 50% to get into FUN, which I think I've mentioned before. But I still have my original REQ position, so fingers crossed it blows up. Potential is HUGE.

That's the way to do it! I have some FUN too, I like Jez San.
