Last March, the exchange house Coinbase announced that it would launch a cryptocurrency index fund, which would give investors the possibility to buy cryptocurrency without problems in the company-owned GDAX exchange, which was recently renamed Coinbase Pro. .
Now, this investment fund is officially available to US accredited investors wishing to invest from US $ 250,000 to US $ 20 million. Through a blog post, Coinbase's product manager, Reuben Bramanathan, said the company has seen great interest from investors in this fund since the original announcement.
The Coinbase index fund charges an annual fee of 2% and allows investment in the four cryptocurrencies currently supported by Coinbase Pro, whose value depends on the market capitalization. In this case, accredited users can invest in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin, with Ethereum Classic as the fifth option that will be incorporated in the coming months, according to the company.
The company also said that it is working on the launch of more investment funds that are accessible to all types of investors and allow them to invest in more cryptocurrencies. Currently, there are other options, such as easily follow the performance of the fund by investing in the cryptocurrencies themselves from Coinbase, or buy Crypto20, the index fund token that allows knowing the performance of 20 cryptocurrencies.
As we have seen over the last few months, Coinbase has expanded its business quickly, so that institutional investors can have at their disposal the best products and services of the company.
Last May, the company revealed new products to meet the demand of these investors, including a cryptocurrency storage system, a professional trading platform and other research and technical support services.
