Bitcoin IRA ???

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

There is a way to purchase bitcoins through a directed IRA. The below company provides a stewardship of IRA accounts that enable purchases of bitcoins through IRA money. They have decent security via multisig and cold storage and good relationship with IRS approval.

What concerns me is their whopping 10% fee! If you have a $100,000; they'll take $10,000! Nuts! Also, who wants their bitcoins under the purview of the IRS? Double Nuts!

Hey @haejin! I came to steemit to gather more info about Bitcoin IRA! I actually set up my BTC IRA investment with https://www.401kcheckbook.com/ but wanted better info before committing more funds. I paid a low fee to get setup and pay a small - really small - fee for maintenance. It's virtually free. They use a novel structure that lets you set up an account at the exchanges to trade crypto in your IRA just as you do for yourself. You can check them it and let us know what you think.
