Regulation is not categorically a bad thing. Many involved in crypto want a permanent wild west where anything goes. Regulation to some extent will be required for the crypto space to grow and prosper. Before bitcoin can be used as collateral in financial contracts it must be vetted to some extent by the existing power/money structure. To want to permanently avoid this will relegate cryptos to only occupying a tiny slice of the worldwide flow of money. I don't want it to be fringe. I want it mainstream where everyone has a chance to use and benefit from the technology.
