Since the 2008 world recession and bitcoin's born in 2009, as an answer to the recession, it made Bitcoin a currency backed with faith and optimism against the major banks, governments, financial organisations. With this being said, the freedom provided by decentralisation, by anonymity of the founder (nickname: Satoshi Nakamoto), by its global value (a bitcoin is worth the same in UK as it is worth in Thailand), relatively low fees for different transactions, etc. made Bitcoin one of the biggest HOPE for people who are against the GREEDY financial organisations around the world.
These organisations, are trying to fight back somehow and as they own the MEDIA, they spread whatever news they want to spread. If they want to buy some BTC, they will place negative news (against Bitcoin and cryptocurrency) and if they want to sell, they publish positive news.

Understanding the above, they can manipulate the Bitcoin price at some point, but they cannot regulate it. And this is the point: Whatever how hard they try, they can "only" profit from cryptocurrencies, our task is to act like them, we can profit too. If the price is driven low, we can buy ourselves too and then sell high. There are some traps though, it is not that simple, but reading between the lines, we can make our money on these speculations and BTC's and in general cryptocurrencies' volatility (sometimes artificial volatility).
Many people can now, with some knowledge, invest and make profits, sometimes fortunes and by doing this, they can achieve that freedom and a life quality increment by paying off debts, mortgages, etc. Furthermore, gains can be invested into further investments, such as real estates (to generate relatively passive income), in other currencies and stocks, etc.
By that, bitcoin opened people's mind, giving them hope to prosper and from back then, there are not only banks related to money, but cryptocurrencies. This is why, the big financial organisations around the world are beaten and thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto, the regular tax payer, working, suffering human being, has a hope to rise. Wisely invested, it can give people some sort of financial freedom, or at least to ease their financial life. This is why cryptocurrencies have a RELIGIONAL factor, when we look at them. It is more than that, but the biggest fuel for them/us, is faith and hope.
