Bitcoin whales have transferred 111,000 Bitcoins after 4 years of inactivity

The Bitcoin community is trying to retrace the story of the gigantic digital wallet containing more than 111,000 BTC and BCH, estimated at approximately $ 802 million. Against all odds, the account was activated after more than 4 years and Bitcoins were transferred to 80 virtual wallets, each with close to 1,000 BTC, at $ 6.9 million.

Several theories on the source of funds

The funds came from an address linked to the DPR, a famous Silk Road operator. It appears that a user has traced the same digital wallet to the DPR in question. Nevertheless, this theory has been denied by some who claim that the transaction dates do not match the expected expectations.

Ross Ulbricht, the alleged operator of Silk Road, was apprehended by police authorities in 2013, but funds were moved a year later . It appears that they did not belong to Ulbricht and that the accused had an accomplice.

Other theories imply Mt. Gox. The date of the last movement of the crypto-currencies (March 2014) corresponds to the filing of the balance sheet of the company. It could be that the funds were received from an address named "MtGox and Others," which makes plausible speculation that the wallet would be linked to the old crypto-purse.

Craig Wright is suspected

Doubt remains because the original owner could simply hold funds on the cryptocurrency trading platform. They are believed to have come from Australian entrepreneur Craig Wright, sadly known to have claimed Satoshi Nakamoto following this theory.

Wright's credibility was all the more blemished when he claimed to be the owner of several addresses with which he had no connection.

Some addresses cited by Wright are linked to the Mt Gox crypto-bourse. But they are actually under the control of the stock market administrator, Nobuaki Kobayashi.

The mystery continues to intrigue members of the Bitcoin community. Who knows, maybe the funds simply belong to a user who bought Bitcoins years ago.
