There has always been talk of some bitcoin skeptics of no real time use of bitcoin.
In the last days there has been news of real estate been traded in bitcoins.

I am here to tell you that there is a latest use of Bitcoin in Africa.
A bitcoin investor in Kenya by the names Anthony Mburu paid brideprice using Bitcoins as reported by Kenya's Big Televisoin Station NTV Kenya

In Africa it is a tradition to pay bridprice to the girls family before the parents bless and let the marriage go ahead.

Bride price is property, money paid by the groom or his family(parents) of the woman he is about to marry or has just married.

This practice is widely spread in Africa or East Africa to be specific, the family of the girl put a monetary value on their daughter which has to be met by the groom before he can marry her!

It has always been that cattle, goats were used in this cultural process. It has advanced of late to using real money and mobile money or checks.

The real money is equivalent to the number of cows or bulls to be taken to the girl's family. This was brought by modernisation where people do not want to buy and transport the cows to the girl's family,so they opt to give an equivalent of cash, mobile mobile and even cheques!

This ceremony of dowry/brideprice giving is a big cultural ceremony where both parents of the boy and girl and also family and friends attend in big numbers as witnessed in this photo below

As days go by people are finding new real life uses of Bitcoin, this time paying bride-price.
This gentleman will enter the Guinness book of records as the first person to pay dowry/bride-price in Bitcoins!

This is really great news for millennials who have not yet married.....as this gentleman advised them(me inclusive) to buy bitcoins and forget until when that day comes and it will not be a big hustle !!!

He was supported by his Bitcoin Investor friends who said the price of Bitcoin just in February was only 900$ and check where it is now.

This whole development comes just after a few days when the governor of Bank of Kenya voiced their concerns of how they are open to innovations like bitcoin....certainly not against it.......this is great news for Africa as a whole

I really think that once Africans get a hold crypto I think there will be a massive flow of wealth into Africa that will be restorative a reparative. And considering many Africans are already familiar with similarly formatted peer-to-peer Exchange monetary systems like bitpesa, it's only a matter of time before that happens.
