Owning 1 Bitcoin will make you part of the wealthy elite. Crazy as that sounds now, the reality will be far different in 10 years from now. We are already hearing stories of people taking out home mortgages to purchase Bitcoins. One person took out a $2 Million Dollar loan on their home to purchase Bitcoins. Can you see now, how Bitcoin will be $200,000.00 within 2 years? When people are borrowing to purchase Bitcoin, the price will rise exponentially.
Remember there will be only 21 Million BTC forever. Approximately 16.5 million have been mined and some have been lost forever (including some that I have lost). This means even less than 21 million will be in existence. There are over $600 Trillion Dollars in Global assets (Fiat currency, Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate, Fine Art etc). Owning 1 BTC will be worth over $28.6 Million Dollars if only 1% of the world's wealth turns towards Bitcoin.
This is actually a conservative number. Many estimates are indicating that close to 8% of the world's wealth will turn towards Bitcoin. If this happens, than one BTC could eventually be worth $228.6 Million Dollars! This is why some say that owning just one Bitcoin could bring about Generations of wealth. Can you imagine, that by owning one BTC, you could provide wealth for the next 4+ Generations of your family!
It is hard to believe and seems fantastical, but the math does support such crazy possibilities. I think this growth potential is why we are seeing people starting to borrow against their homes in order to buy Bitcoin. Once BTC breaks $10,000.00 per coin it will be off to the races. This will happen very soon. Once it hits that point, all of us will be amazed at the monthly gains that we will witness.
This explains, that within 10 years, why the majority of the Global population will never have hopes of owning one Bitcoin. People in the future, will be talking about how many Satoshi's (100 Million per 1 Bitcoin) they own not how many Bitcoins they own.

Give it time. I am being patient. There are a lot of geopolitical events in play that will change the globe dramatically. Yes ,we will have volatility for quite some time unfortunately .

The banks seem to be fighting like hell to prevent me from buying crypto. There are tons of spook stories about people getting their bank accounts frozen for dealing with crypto companies. Now this was an interesting point of view and one that makes me want to go out and buy as much as I can. I do think there is a golden future for BTC and cryptos in general and watching since their beginnings the values now on some are staggering to me. You're numbers are mind blowing but I like it!
I know it sounds crazy. I did all of the math. The numbers I used are conservative. I rounded down not up and it was still mind blowing. 20 years from now, people will be amazed if you are one of the few lucky people who own one whole Bitcoin!
Unless Segwit causes mass exodus ... Oh wait. It really doesn't take a lot of money, relative to traditional markets, to move the needle with #BTC. Perhaps we're all being shaken out with all of this segwit confusion ... ARGH how frustrating. Shake out the rebels and then let BTC rise to be the emperor of crypto. Ugh.

Yes, try as much as you can to get just one. Store it on a hard wallet like a Ledger Nano S. All you will need is just one and hold it. In less than 10 years (8 most likely) it will be $1 Million Dollars. If I am wrong, you can always sell it. However, to many businesses and Governments are involved in Bitcoin and the block chain. It is here to stay

I upvoted just because it's nice to think about. I'm accumulating as many as I can, although I'm not even considering the prospect of even 6 figures. For me that would be awesome enough. Anything more than that would be heaven. I just hope it doesn't explode too soon. Need time to accumulate more at this price!! :)
I was thinking the same thing. The more Bitcoin is in the news the more people look into it and get interested. I am all for everyone adopting crypto currencies but the price is rising rapidly making it more expensive for us each week to buy more
Nice article however your math is wrong. if you take 1% of $600 trillion that is $6 trillion then divide that by the 21 million coins and you would get a cost per coin of $285,714 which is still a pretty nice figure
