Over the next 48 hours we will see if BIP91 is solidified. Most likely (99.99% chance) it will be enforced by Sunday. The next 48 hours, allows the minors to get geared up to signal for SegWit. The signalling will be necessary in order for all future blocks to be accepted and validated by the network. Any blocks that do not have this SegWit signal will be rejected.
This giant hurdle of settling the "New York" agreement to implement SegWit has helped to settle FUD (fear uncertainty doubt). With the uncertainty gone, we will see BTC continue to rise steadily in the months/years to come. Will we see ups and downs? Absolutely, but nothing to worry about. In a "true" free market, volatility is normal and HEALTHY. Volatility is like a heart beat of a market. No heart beat and the patient is dead, with a heart beat there is life. Ups and downs is the evidence of buying and selling, which is what we all want to see in any market.
As I have said in many of my posts, crypto currencies are here to stay. Unless you are a day trader (which I am not) do not be concerned about the daily price fluctuations. I look at weekly and monthly charts. Looking at monthly charts is much more calming and shows the overall market trends. Crypto currencies are rising in value every month and will continue to do so over the next 8+ years, according to the data.
So, as we experience the roller coaster ride of crypto currencies, I say strap in and enjoy the ride. Some of you may wish to hold your hands up in the air during the ride, I myself prefer to hold on. LOL
It is a rollercoaster. Without the ups and downs, it would be like taking an under ground train (boring).
