Research on cloudmining #1: https://fflakmining.com/

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Is https://fflakmining.com/ legit? That was the question a friend of mine asked me. Now there site looked nice. A few things feel a little off. And the company data is hard to verify. But you get a nice welcome gift. A bitcoin miner.

That being said, I researched into the company information. And I have my fair doubts about it. I couldn't find a business registare which is comparable to one of the Netherlands as openkvk.nl. If someone has these, please let me know in the comments. So I had to depend on whois, Google Maps & other tools.

So here is the whois reg:

Fisher is a common name, often used by multiple families. That also makes it popular to scam people with. And of course it could be a hint since it is close to Phiser. According to the site there is a Ronda Fisher working there, however there is FRED ELIAS FISCHER right there. A quick google search and Linkedin search however make only their site pop-up. And some FRED FISCHER Then again I feel like a strong hint is dropped here. FRED ELIAS FISCHER = Fred Phiser. The site could be meant for all sort of social engineering practices or even stealing cookies. Then again it could be legit. However I have more reason to suspect not to. On one site there is a Ronda, on another site isn't.

This site is registered under https://fflak.com/#/ how ever it represents cointech ltd

Their phone number matches with some IT-Business.

That same friend asked me to call them. I couldn't at that moment so a quick Google Search was the answer.

I found a forum that has some positive information about them

https://www.scambitcoin.com/fflakmining/ (some comments are positive)
How ever comments can be placed by anyone.

The SSL Certificate
Since the sight is young about a month old now it may be hard to say. The connection to the site is encrypted that is all we know. However the certificate is owned by cloudflare.

Verdict
There are so many lose ends here, I wouldn't spend a penny there before someone I know personally get's paid. Simply put the saying if it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck and if it looks like a duck it must be a duck to practice. And I will just leave my welcome gift running. And never use the same password on that site as for anything else. (Believe me you shouldn't anyway)

Still wanna try?

If you want me to research another cloudminer or for any corrections just drop a comment.

Sort:

Cloudming is very easy to ponzi, I wouldn't trust them unless I've seen evidence of servers, I would look into withdrawl limits and see if theyve scamed there, but otherwise this is only 10% less than hashflare so I don't know why anyone would risk it.

Neither do i. Someone just asked me hey can you look into this company for me. So I did, there is a video on their website. Which looks like random stockfootage.

Nice topic I've benefited

Your welcome. :)
