Bitmain sells wireless routers for mining cryptocurrencies.
Have you ever considered what it would be like to mine cryptocurrencies while surfing the internet? If so, Bitmain has an offer that may interest you. The Chinese mining company announced that it will make wireless routers that can mine digital coins while connected to the Internet.
Dash and Siacoin mines while surfing the internet
Just days after it became known that Canaan, the second largest producer of mining equipment, works on a television that also serves as a mining device, competitor Bitmain relents. Bitmain, the leading manufacturer, will also be offering cryptocurrency mining equipment for the home.
Crypto enthusiasts and amateur miners will greet this device with a smile. The project is not about profits but about the idea itself. Bitmain announced this week that it's creating two different wireless routers that can also mine cryptocurrencies. The devices, the Antrouter R3-Dash and Antrouter R3-SIA, are designed to produce the cryptocurrencies Dash (DASH) and Siacoin (SC).
The two routers are models of Bitmains R3 series. These can be bought with the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC). The first models will be available for a special price of $ 58.
Routers can also mine other X11 Blake2b Coins
Bitmain promised to ship the devices within 10 days of being fully paid. Once the routers are connected to the Internet, they start mining in Bitmain's Antpool. Each buyer will also receive their own account at the company to verify the mining status.
The website states that the R3 DASH was designed for Dash's mining. Bitmain stressed, however, that other X11 coins can be mixed with the device, but then the full power can not be provided. The R3-DASH has a hashrate of 300M / s (± 5%).
The other router, the R3-SIA, was designed specifically for the Siacoin, but is also able to mine Blake2b coins at a lower power. The R3-SIA has a hathrate of 11.54G / s (± 5%). In addition, both devices weigh 600 gram without packaging.
