In the moment, Bitcoin mining requires a lot of electricity and very specific equipment. Most investors choose options for buying finished coins on the exchange, but do not think that mining has slowed. How much does it cost to generate electricity?
It is expected that by the end of 2018 the global Bitcoin network will use 7.67 gigawatts of electric power for cooling and hardware. This is one-hundredth of the electricity used by the entire planet. Therefore Bitcoin network currently uses electricity as much as Ireland consumes 3.1 gigawatts. In the future, consumption may rise to the level of Australia 8.2 gigawatts.
If the crypto currencies become future money, investors will have to take care of the ecology of the future, to meet the needs of the Bitcoin network.
