Good question! I believe a lot of that was driven by new exchanges coming online. They basically needed to fill their inventory of the most popular coins so they went out and bought them all. To see that kind of performance repeated, we need a bunch of new exchanges to all come online at once again. In my opinion anyways.

Very interesting, thank you for your reply. I will for sure keep an eye out for something like that to happen again.
I'm thinking it will, by the new blockchain exchanges coming into play, and predictive markets, sports and fantasie sports betting.
Hello jrcornel!
Please do a piece giving us your speculation concerning the prospect of a wave of new exchanges coming online. As you are aware, there is a recent sprouting of literature which suggests that we should batten down the hatches and get ready to do a lot more trading in decentralized peer-to-peer mode because of the pressures that the existing exchanges will be facing down the road.
