Russian Parliament Considering Bitcoin

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

According to a recent update by www.cryptocoinsnews.com the decision for the Russian government regarding the recognition and regulation of bitcoin or other cryptos might now be on again! It was reported in april that these regulations would be possible in 2018. Shortly after, on June 1st CCN reports that the head for the Bank of Russia stated that bitcoin would not be considered a currency instead a digital asset.

Fast forward to today!

According to CCN,

"the lower house of the Russian legislature-- committee member Vadim Dngin says a parliamentary hearing on the legalization >of cryptocurrencies, particularly bitcoin, may soon start in the country. He added that bitcoin "will most likely become accepted >throughout the world".

Looking at the past developments of cryptos in Russia, in 2016 some talks had gone on concerning the development of a national digital currency, seems like it is grabbing the attention of yet another large government...

What do you guys think this will mean for BTC? Will we see this anytime soon?
