BTC and Ethereum would be my top two picks I'm staying away from well marketed coins to ones that are more focussed on the technology.
ZCL at $100ish, fork at the end of the month for bitcoin private will spark a run!
EOS, Steem and BTS have to be up there. The issue I have is that most of my crypto money is in crypto. When the market moves in lock step I can’t really sell out. If I sell into fiat to wait it out, I generate a tax liability. I could use tether I suppose but I don’t trust it!
Those 3 you listed are my favorites, along with Bitcoin and Stellar Lumens.
I’ve also got btc, some bch I never got around to selling and a small amount of eth. I sold all my stellar shortly after claiming it as it wasn’t doing much. It’s gained since then but not sure if it’s gained against btc!
I think if you hold some btc, bts, EOS and Steem you can’t go far wrong.
Are you trading Bitshares on a centralized exchange? Move your cryptos to the Open Ledger app on Bitshares and you can move in/out of USD with no central authority watching your back!
Of course, I use the Bitshares decentralized exchange. It's really amazing and growing every day with more users. I'm surprised more people don't know about it!
No I’m trading bitshares on the bitshares exchange. But you still have counter party risk and you are not exempt from taxes or providing info etc just because it’s decebtralised!

I use tether just to stop loss then role right back out and buy cheaper when all goes as planned like this last dip

What do you mean?
Current EOS tokens will not exist (or will not be worth anything) 48 hours after the launch of the EOS blockchain (June 18 I think). They are an ERC20 token which represents the token on the EOS blockchain.
You need to register your ethereum address with EOS to ensure you are credited with the EOS when the block chain goes live.

Hey so clarify for me so it clicks in my brain :) If I go out to say open ledger and buy $500 worth of EOS before June 18th they'll essentially be worth nothing and a waste of time and money? So wait to buy till after or buy and register them?
I don’t know about different wallets or exchanges but my understanding is that if you hold eos on an ethereum address after the go live date, it will effectively be worthless unless you register it.

The current EOS token is only a placeholder for your real EOS tokens when the platform launches in june 2018. Registering your tokens on the Ethereum platform allows them to swap you 1:1 for the real EOS token. They can't give you the real tokens if they can't find you. Hence, registering your tokens on the Ethereum platform is a must.

I got 10 litecoin the other day at 107. There is still time! Litecoin with the release of Litepay and Litepal here soon should have be nice. I also like NEO, since there NEOcon they released there path and have huge plans.
I also invested in Bitcoin cash at $850. It's only a matter of time until the flippening.
I like NEO but BCH is too risky... If LN becomes fully functional than BCH is in problem...
Do you know how the lightning network works, or just heard the Lightning Network? with 2 people its fine. when 3 people are in the channel it gets way too complicated. It wont be the solution to bitcoins problems.
That is why I said fully functional... If they make process of opening channels and sending Bitcoin with LN easy, then I think BCH will have problem. User without any tech knowledge should be able to send BTC with LN.

With the upcoming Litecoin fork...it’s an interesting buy. As you may know Litecoin is going to fork on Feb 19th. Holders of Litecoin through the hard fork will get 10 Litecoin Cash for every Litecoin they have... Therefore could be a good play in the coming days. As long as the world stock market doesn’t bring the crypto world down with it...

Why will Cardano be any better than NEO?
I don't no much about NEO. Cardano is in its earlier stage has great potential, it has great team and ideas. Price of Cardano may pop out around Q2 this year, minting of Cardano coins begins in Q2.
Stellar and NEO are some of my absolute favorites at the moment. I feel like those and most of the crypto market are bound to shoot up by the end of the year.
Both are good...NEO should be worth as much or more than Ethereum and either Stellar or NANO will become the dominant digital currency.
I'm still high on Ripple and Stellar: I bought more of these yesterday and I bought more Litecoin the day before that. I have wanted to get into ADA but haven't as of yet. I also have some NEO that I would like to get more of and QTUM as well. With China closing the door on outsiders, having these two Chinese protocol coins in the stable will hopefully be very profitable down the road when China starts releasing their own renditions of everything they are blocking to the 1.3 billion person population.

I think that it is new FIAT made by the same guys for the same reason.
I think of Ripple as being a gateway crypto. It’s fintech for the banks and other fiat moving companies. As it is adopted by more and companies, it will expose more companies and people to the idea of crypto. I know that some people believe that that it is not truely crypto because it is more centralized than the rest, however I think that is an advantage not a disadvantage. It is centalized enough to be acceptable to financial institutions but has all of the hallmark technologies of crypto. I think Ripple will be the third founding father of crypto behind Bitcoin and Etheruem.

But my strategy is to pick a coin and then study it for week, i mean read all what you can find about it and if you are satisfied with what you have seen then buy. Doesnt matter the price, all will go up in the future but you have to be sure that you are not buying shit coin which will fail

The major question most investors should have at this point is not where to invest (clearly there are a lot of good projects out there) but WHEN to invest.
If btc recovers to 14-15k in the next weeks, will ALL the alts bleed?
IMHO the best times to buy altcoins are after a bull run in btc.
Then the profits flow into alts most of the times,
while the ALT/BTC doesn't changes that fast allowing some gainz in the alt/btc pair.
The faster you invest in crypto the better off you are... If you play the long game that will say! Majority of coins seems to be following the same trend. When the big goes up everything goes up... Investors are not looking at the short term they are looking in the future. Many years! Taking out profits now is a waste of time. Since there is such a high chance you make so much more by holding.
