Bitcoin Gold Wallet Scam, More Than $3 Million Stolen

As part of the elaborated scam on bitcoin users, more than $3.3 million has been stolen from different users. Bitcoin users seeking their share on newly created cryptocurrency known as Bitcoin Gold are made to share their private key to generate the wallet. As soon as they have created their wallet the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in their wallet were sent to the different addresses.

More than $30,000 in ethereum, $ 72,000 litecoin, $107,000 bitcoin gold and $3 million bitcoin were stolen as part of the elaborated scam.

This scam is said to be designed by the operators of the website mybtgwallet.com.

Before the scam, the bitcoin gold team even promoted the the website mybtgwallet.com in their website assuring the users it was safe to use. They even embedded their tools in their website with the disclaimer, that the users should not share their private key. The website was developed by the person named John Dass but it is unclear that this person is real or just a pseudonym.

But as soon as the scam is apparent, it went viral.

Representatives of bitcoin gold told they are trying to find out how the scam took place. After the scam, they launched an internal investigation on this matter. In the published statement, the developers of bitcoin gold told they were working with security experts to get the bottom of this issue and find a solution. The name of the experts involved is yet to be known. The investigation indicates the developer John Dass was responsible for the scam but he denied any such claims and he is out of touch, said the investigators.

The bitcoin gold developer told they do not have any formal relation with the John Dass and he was not the part of the Bitcoin gold developer team, but he used to interact with the team regarding developing of his open source website.

The bitcoin gold team will make a further announcement on this matter in the coming days, an official said.
