Unknown hackers broke into the mining pool of the blockchain platform HDAC, owned by Hyundai. The withdrawal of funds from the platform was temporarily blocked, according to the CCN publication.
According to the publication, hackers gained access to the internal system of the pool due to server vulnerabilities. The HDAC team is currently working on recovering the platform after the server has been hacked.
The company HyundaiPay, responsible for the development of the HDAC platform, has already stated that it is not responsible for the incident.
"Cryptocurrency mining pool HDAC is not related to HyundaiPay and its subdivisions. The HyundaiPay team does not have information about the hacking and does not interfere with the work of the mining pool," the company noted, adding that the HDAC blockchain itself was not hacked.
It is also noted that the attack did not affect all members of the mining pool.
"Although HyundaiPay cannot provide the exact details of the attack and suffered most of the miners," said the company.
Note that the HDAC platform operates on a hybrid blockchain technology compatible with IoT devices, which provides them with a reliable connection and secure data processing. In addition, the platform is primarily designed to control IoT devices, not to make payments
