Are ICOs the scam that bitcoin was supposed to be?

Something we need to take on board with all these ICO bans.
Many think it’s happening to manipulate bitcoin price. But I think it’s kinda an angel in disguise.
Firstly, existing ICOs have a much better chance of surviving if competition is killed off.
Secondly, this is something that needs to happen. There are just too many ICOs & it’s probably a huge scam that could kill crypto in the end. Or at least set it back 10 years. All confidence by the mainstream would be lost.
No matter how big crypto gets it’s simply logic that not all 800 plus coins/tokens available will survive.
I, for one will make sure that I take my initial investment out of any ICOs I buy into ASAP. Either sell half for double what I bought (assuming the coin does what most coins with huge hype do) or 10% at ten times what I bought if it moons.
The sad fact is that many people on these pages will lose a great deal of money.
There is something very “amway” about ICOs these days. The team are God’s, the followers are devoted followers & everything is rosy.... right up to the point it isn’t.
Take heed my fellow cryptophiles
