Bitcoin: Why the currency is unpredictable

in #bitcoin7 years ago

The crypt diet Bitcoin is recording a record level after its split. But the danger of a burglary is now quite big.
Kummer and jubilation were always close to one another at Bitcoin Investments. When the brokers and traders argued about the future of the Internet currency in July, the prices fell below the $ 2,000 mark. Bitcoins thus lost about a third of their value within a few days. Four weeks later, the currency is recording at a record level, rising to $ 4,500 per bitcoin. Between the cracking of the 3000 dollar mark and the 4000 dollar mark are just eight days.
Thanks to the split to the record
The reason for the impressive rally is a software upgrade, which the Bitcoin community voted at the end of July. This should make transactions with the currency faster and cheaper, so that it can establish itself better than everyday cash. The large majority agreed with the innovations, which resulted in a split - a so-called fork - of the new currency. Since the beginning of August Bitcoin now has the sister currency Bitcoin Cash. The users are thus after the split

In addition to their original bitcoins, an identical set of the new currency - at least if they manage their balances themselves in a so-called wallet and have control over the associated private key. Whoever has deposited his bitcoins on a trading platform, such as the well-known stock exchange Coinbase, may not receive Bitcoin Cash because not all platforms support the innovations.
Speculation instead of cash
It is difficult to foresee how the new digital asset will develop. The course for Bitcoin Cash has fallen by about a third since the spin-off. However, it also took the classic bitcoins until the currency has established itself. To this day it is very volatile. Price rises followed mostly violent burglaries because the currency instead of a cash became a speculative object. Because the offer is limited. A maximum of 21 million units can be produced by complicated computing operations. A physical security is missing, there is also no banknote behind the currency. The purchase is correspondingly risky - especially at the current price level.

Investors who still want to profit from the boom can rely on chip makers. The US company Nvidia produces, for example, those high-performance graphics that are necessary to scan the bitcoins. Over the past twelve months, the company's share (ISIN: US 670 66G 104 0) has grown by more than 150 percent.
