Cryptocurrencies require a function global (or at least regional) computer network. If the world wide network is severed so that it is a bunch of mini-networks that can't contact each other, then this whole system could easily fragment and fall apart.

even in the worst case scenario, there wud b some parts that still will hold computer network and internet going on... that is the advantage of decentralized network and that is what could be beneficial for crypto network.
