Re: your conspiracy theory, don’t forget Clif High’s sentiment index, or whatever it’s called. He tracks social media information and comments and such and puts it into an algorithm to figure out trends of ongoing feeling about something. He describes it further on his website HalfPastHuman
I would expect that the increase in size and length of comment and all that exposition that these supposed “concerned pessimists” engage in are possibly trying to not only influence fellow eyeballs and live interactive humans but also the other bots reading the comments and looking for trends and therefore acting on things based on such things.
MUCH WOW. SUCH META.
Clif High should be able to filter out the fake comments. I don't trust Clif High. It was easy to pick cryptos that were going up in a bull market but he had no idea that the bear market was going to be so drastic. He was talking up many coins that are now almost worthless. His predictions for silver have been wrong for years. His other predictions seem no better than random guesses. He makes videos with several YouTubers that seem to be more interested in making money from their followers than from cryptocurrency. I can't understand why people take him seriously.
I have definitely read more of the type of story which you are describing. I don't have any sense of how routine such comments are since "teaching kicks in" and I find myself quickly moving on and not reading them. You always quickly get a feel for what is coming. My time is valuable to me. I read alot so when an article feels like a commercial, I automatically move on. That being said, I would trust your analysis since there does seem to be an increase in that type of commentary which rapidly feels like it is attached to an agenda.
As a bot myself, I can recognize a fellow bot from a mile away. I think you’re spot on with your theory of what’s going on, because as commenter and consumer, I’ve noticed the same thing.
shill shill shill
Most of them for months were shilling bots. They join live chats and have the same list of phrases to pull from:
What do you think of
COIN
?Can you tell me your thoughts on
COIN
?COIN
???????You holding any
COIN
?And so on. Replace
COIN
with whatever coin needs pumping by the overlords.Bots are dynamic
The thing about bots is you can give it a dictionary of phrases with placeholders and a dictionary of coins and it can keep track of how many times it used each phrase, each coin, and each place it was used. Reports can be created for analysis afterwards.
Bots are like crypto
Bots get a bad rap sometimes, like crypto itself. “Crypto is for drug dealers and terrorists”. No, crypto is an amazingly effective tool that can be used for good and evil. Same with bots. Bots are amazingly effective. Doesn’t make the bots bad. It’s up to who uses them and what they’re used for.
The videos on DTube are not working correctly all the time - It is not loading at the moment.
I 100% agree with your conspiracy theory. Scary thumbnail btw 🙈
i like your conspiracy theory Chris. The stronger minds will win.
Chris, social manipulation on Youtube....hehe.... FB twitter and YT, directly and indirectly are constantly doing this, blue pill. All the way to the 2016 election every news outlet in the US was predicting Killary with an 80% likely hood of winning. Look at the Brexit vote. They told people that it would never pass and then made an excuses that the bad weather played a part. When our president Trump tweets the amount of negative far out weighs the positive but look at the popularity of his rallies.... Total Control!!!
Hi Chris. I cannot find any news about the Scatter alert and especially what about the Chrome extension? There is no update to see in the Chrome Shop. The concept of metal backed crypto is irritating in a way. Although it seems we need a real asset as security or value proposition. It seems Jackson Palmer is right, the Utility token will disappear at large. We need something where value is not created just "out of thin air". - Great Conspiracy Theory.
These increases in comments also support the thought we are starting to see the despair phase of the market cycle in which long time believer give up and these social attacka could inspire more of that. However, while we are seeing it in the price action, I do not think we are seeing it in volumes which leads me to believe we have yet to capitulate or we have more holders than suspected.

YouTube comments are such a mess. I see so many scammers in the comments. They have many accounts because they leave positive comments on their own comments. Then there's the YouTube shillers that ban anyone that tries to warn others about the coins they're telling people to buy, that are obvious scams.
YouTube shouldn't let people block comments for no good reason and they should be able to block the scammers.
Thank you for sharing your conspiracy theory with us, looking forward to see more from you.
Have a good day

Very interesting conspiracy , makes perfect sense though because people’s emotions are highly influenced by comments more so than the actual content. And the fact that they are making these long comments is strange indeed. Manipulation has many facets

It is an interesting video!
Your latest theory regarding Crypto Content Comment Manipulation shares similarities with social engineering activity (comment "flooding") seen in US political discourse on social media (e.g. Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube) attributed to organizations linked to George Soros' Open Society Foundations. Soros is famous for shorting the British Sterling Pound in 1992.
The government, Military and perhaps political parties do use paid internet trolls. They try to influence people on social media sites and chat rooms to sway the public's way of thinking. I have come across many in the comment section. They usually have terrible grammar!
not clear if it is the scatter chrome-app or the desktop application only?
100% true
Great episode, one of your best, I learned a lot / ty
Hi @marketingmonk, your conspiracy theory sounds realistic and it's probably justified. I am pretty sure, that this kind of social network opinion movers/makers work for some big players. It might go hand in hand with BAKKT delay, EFT delay etc., some big names might be still buying OTC massive numbers of BTC and the price drop might be so huge profit for them, so this what you describe is only one piece of the puzzle. One day or another, the price will skyrocket driven by FOMO and then the comments will be opposite direction (and again negative when sell-off). Someone needs to get profits anyways and it will be those with information and resources. Remember CNBC advices 😊 how to buy Ripple (when $ 2,55), how to sell Ripple (when $ 0,71) 🙄
Your theory seems interesting, I’m going to go deep into it and see what I can find.
Chris, you should upvote your followers once in a while 😊
Ledger has supported the forks pretty well although claiming your SV looks a bit long crypto is going to 0 though luckily safetony is your friend and will give you any amount of cutlery under 1kg you want for it ;)
Thank you so much for all the information you are giving us through your great videos.
Great mix of topics as usual, you always seem to highlight a few things I missed in the days news. Re: your conspiracy theory - I think you're right. I'm researching for a piece now and comparing FUD from 2014-2015 bottom to today's market. It's almost identical in content, sentiment, and quantity. The only difference I think is that it is more automated today. The bots work faster and cheaper than the manual FUDslingers of 2014!
Great explination on some of the benefits these Bitcoin forks get from forking from the original as well as the marketing and branding value they get from it. they also create a fragmentation in the market with new investors who arent very clued up thinking well I cant afford one BTC but this other type of Bitcoin I can afford to have a whole one.
These sort of marketing tactics also encourage trading and push projects up in market cap when they really would not have that value had they been a non bitcoin branded coin
