The same reason why you don't store your assets in an online wallet.
The same reason you don't buy a hardware wallet via a reseller.
If you hodl you should generate your own keys in a secure environment and store your assets offline with your own encryption!
Never share your keys ore store them unencrypted or online!

Generate keys with an official wallet.
Print those keys and put them in a vault and also keep them on flash drives. For easy drive encryption you could use 7zip, truecrypt etc.. So you can put a password on the files.
Also check if your pc is secure. No keyloggers, viruses etc.
For printing you should connect to USB in stead of network printing. That way there can be no man in the middle.
