Is JUMPING THE YouTube SHIP To the STEEMIT SHIP Only For Financial Channels?

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

Like many others I'm seriously fed up with the Youtube games. Demonetizing videos and censuring channels with various politically incorrect content has become the norm over at Youtube and it looks like they are slowly pushing content creators in the corner in order to promote more network type programming. YOU being YOUTUBE is no longer about YOU. It's about network approved programming.

So I hear about SteemIT and my channel makes the jump. My channel content is about our family who made the move in 2012 to live off grid. Yup! This post is powered by the sun. We have limited solar power and no utilities other than a phone line (DSL) that we power ourselves. Our Youtube channel has over 45,000 subs and we've never had a down month. Because of some of the questionable content we post concerning firearms, raising livestock and homeschooling, Youtube has flagged our videos multiple times. So SteemIT is a chance for a new hope and fresh start.

But once we made the bounce over to SteemIT, it was obvious that most of the site is about finances and crypto-currencies. Does homesteading off grid really have a chance to fit in here? We are people who disconnected from the grid. We actually broke away from the system that is designed to not ever allow you to break away. I have not had an electric bill in 5 years. I have not had a water bill in 5 years. I have not had a sewer bill in 5 years. We are detached.

Breaking away from the dollar is just one way to break away. Those who choose to leave the debt based currencies behind have a brotherhood with those who have broken away from the system in other areas. Why only go so far with the disconnection from the monetary system? The truth is the system still has a hold on you. It controls you. You pay homage to it every day with your continued participation in its services whether you pay for it with crypto-currencies, fiat dollars or even gold and silver.

Raising your own food, producing your own energy and creating your own utilities is a better way to break from the system that enslaves us with debt and death. I'm not talking about 100% sustainability. Even the American pioneers 200 years ago traded and made purchases of raw items to survive. But they had a much deeper grasp on the meaning of freedom, true freedom than we do today.

So we can talk all we want about the destruction of the dollar or the rise of crypto-currencies or even the market manipulation of precious metals all we want. We know it's about preparedness. But when you push preparedness to its full and logical conclusion, you're going to end up with modern homesteading.

This is perhaps the best YouTube video I have ever seen and is one of the best posts I have seen here at STEEMIT! You guys definitely belong here. Please stay.

I have only been here for 4 days and I can tell you that we are all a bunch of silver stackers, preppers, farmers, artists, photographers just wanting to be free from ridiculous government bureaucracy and left to our own devices.

Welcome and know that I am following you.

Silver is my favourite colour, and metal. :)

Linked my videos from youtube to steemit yesterday. Got more views in a day, than youtube says I get in a month. A couple weeks ago I had some comment on my video that they could not believe after the countless searches that they had never found my Walipini videos. I prolly see that 300$ underground greenhouse article bounce around facebook every other week. Why is youtube trying to crush me? Now I want to move my videos from youtube to another platform, and found that youtube wants me to sighn up for youtube red to download my own videos! Talk about kicking a man when he's down. First I am repressed, second I am asked to buy back my own content. I hope steemit does video hosting in the future.

Steemit is going to launch their own video platform here soon. I think it's in testing. Also, if you want to download your vids from youtube, you can find firefox browser plugins that will do just that with no issues. Glad you are here! Will Follow your channel!

We have chatted on fb before. I am sure you hear that alot! Thanks for bringing me along to steemit. I found a app to recover my own videos from youtube. Thanks again!

Zac great video. I am on Patreon with you too.
I asked you about the Oklahoma mountains for homesteading. Did you compare that area to your location? What are your thoughts on that
area? Where should I look for land in your area? Tom

Hey! I must have missed your patreon question. Very sorry. I'm not very familiar with the oklahoma mountains. They in eastern OK? If so they may be part of the Boston mountain range and that is where we live on the AR side. I know parts of western OK is like a desert. You want to check local averages on rainfall before you make your choice. It would be good to have something around 25 inches a year or better average.

Thank you yes eastern OK right up against Ark border.
