Facebook appears to be winning in the short term by keeping its own users from seeing these alternatives on their own site, but also shooting itself in the foot when people realize they're seeing a soft-censored newsfeed. When people become aware of these things and see FB as adversarial, I wouldn't doubt there'll be a larger hiatus out.
