Best Photo of Clueless Yellen Yet

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

Few better photos than this one of clueless flip flopping Yellen and company. To raise interest rates then back off again a few days later, seems like that's about as long term as the Fed actually can be. Looking at the photo I can't help being reminded by Yellen's blissful unawareness of her surrounding about the Fed's unreality in their proclamations of a great economy. More young people unemployed and living with their parents, more retirees working in the labour force and record part time jobs are just screaming stagflation.

As the Fed tries to do their perfect balancing act of creating enough credit to pay interest and prop assets while seeming to prop up interest rates to simulate a sluggish "recovery", it would appear that once again the system will become increasingly unstable. I can't imagine how creating credit and propping up interest rates can happen without destroying the veneer of stability in the market. I'm sure when a bifurcation happens and a black swan destabilising even does happen, it will take more than a huge monkey hammer against the VIX to solve all the problems and make our "second greatest generation" baby boomers whole again on their 401Ks.

In such an environment Bitcoin, Cryptos and all other counterparty free assets cannot but increase in value multiple folds. Good luck and get some crypto before the Feds and the investment world wakes up and find out what a mess they've created. Because there's just not enough to go around, and who knows what the sleeping stock market speculators would pay to get a Bitcoin when they finally lose faith in a S&P that is down 30% on a "mild recession" if we should all be so lucky.

This is exactly what has me intrigued! During the last crash in 2008, these crypto-markets were not established. Now they are, and! the Djia is waaaay higher than before the housing crash. hmmmm.
