EOS is 66,000 times more energy efficient than BTC.

the amount of energy consumed by BTC network is 73 TWh/yr. it is similar to the energy consumed by the entire population of Argentina. this energy could cover the power needs of Africa. if BTC network were a country, it would be the 39th biggest energy consumer in the world.

ETH network consumes 19 TWh/yr. if BTC and ETH were a country, their combined total energy consumption would be the 34th biggest energy consumer in the world.

EOS will demand 0.0011 TWh/yr. this makes EOS 66,000 times more energy efficient than BTC and 17,000 times more energy efficient than ETH.

Metal Pay, Pundi X, and BillPay are three clever projects which will bring cryptocurrency to everyday life.

Metal Pay

Metal Pay operates similarly to a bank. consumers who own Metal Pay card or app are able to purchase and bank with them like a regular debit card.

whenever users make purchases with a metal pay card, they earn MTL tokens through a system called Proof of Processing Payment (PoPP). PoPP is a provable way of identifying purchasers and adding new cryptocurrency tokens to the economy. a user is paid 5 to 10% of the purchase amount in MTL. MTL is an ERC-20 token.

Pundi X

Pundi X makes it easier for retailers and consumers to exchange goods using cryptocurrency. retailers are provided with the machines, called XPOS, that work as blockchain card machines. customers are provided with cards which are required to use XPOS. XPOS can handle standard fiat purchases as well.

BillPay

BillPay is Santander Bank’s online service which allows United States citizens to pay their bills online. the firm provides a service which accepts a person’s spare change and converts it into cryptocurrency, which can then be used to pay the bills.
