On July 25, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said it is considering the application of regulations such as securities to the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) token. SEC states that the DAO is a virtual group based on block chains and computer code, and the majority of ICO token sales seem to be regulated. As companies gain tremendous benefits (low barriers to entry and high returns) using ICOs, the SEC's regulations seem to be inevitable given the equity with the IPO. I think it is good news since traders are being hurt by the recent irreverent ICOs. And in the short term, only a few competitive coins will survive in the cryptocurrency market.

Alexander Vinnik, owner of the Russian exchange BTC-E, was arrested for money laundering in Greece. Yesterday, the BTC-E Exchange has been suspected of being hacked, and in fact the owner seems to have been on the run. And the shocking thing is that BTC-E hacked Mt Gox. If you look back on how much the cryptocurrency market has suffered due to the Mt Gox hack, it is very annoying.

7월 25일 미국 SEC(Securities and Exchange Commission: 미국 증권 거래 위원회)는 DAO(Decentralized Autonomous Organization) 토큰에 대해서 유가 증권과 같은 규제 적용을 검토 중이라고 밝혔습니다. 여기에서 DAO는 블록체인과 컴퓨터 코드를 기반으로 하는 가상 단체라고 명시하여, 대다수의 ICO 토큰 세일이 규제를 받을 것으로 보입니다. 기업들이 ICO를 이용해서 엄청난 이득(낮은 진입장벽과 높은 수익률)을 얻는 만큼, IPO와의 형평성을 고려하면 SEC의 규제는 어쩔 수 없는 것처럼 보입니다. 최근 무분별한 ICO로 인해서 투자자들이 피해를 받고 있기 때문에 저는 긍정적인 뉴스라고 생각합니다. 그리고 단기적으로 가상화폐 시장에서는 경쟁력 있는 몇 개의 코인만이 살아남을 수 있을 것입니다.

러시아 거래소 BTC-E의 오너인 Alexander Vinnik가 그리스에서 돈 세탁 혐의로 체포되었습니다. 어제 하루 동안 BTC-E 거래소는 해킹 의심을 받아 왔었는데, 실제로는 오너가 도망 중이었던 것 같습니다. 그리고 충격적인 것은 BTC-E가 Mt Gox를 해킹했다는 증언이 나왔습니다. Mt Gox 해킹으로 인해서 가상화폐 시장이 얼마나 큰 침체기를 겪었는지를 돌이켜 보면 굉장히 화가 나는 일입니다.
