RE: LocalBitcoins Ad Limits hurting the community

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Got a response from max in the thread. Link shorteners are auto censored. But I didn't use a shortener.

And the response to the ad limit issue was that they are focusing on responding to tickets. I've responded to max that reducing tickets would help them respond quicker, and giving more ads to reliable traders would give people safer options, and probably create less tickets. Here is my full response:

Less tickets would mean better response times. Can we see some stats on what category the tickets are falling under?

I'm guessing recently lots of tickets for pending BlockChain issues.

But probably lots of tickets from new confused users. Not sure how to help them.

iTunes category full of scammers- put a red waning up about it's high risk nature.

Scammers filling some of the gift card categories, that pro traders would give a safe option, but no longer have the ability to have ads in each category.

People getting scammed in the forums. And other people reporting those spammer/scammers. If people weren't falling for the out of escrow trades, maybe less tickets. Put a popup of the forum rules for anyone not logged in, and one time for anyone logged in. Also a permanent sticky, or side info. I met a lady over the weekend at a Bitcoin wallet class that I occasionally attend to assist new users, she though LBC was just a forum for discussion btc.

If we have no trade history with someone, and that person gets reported as a coinlocker or scammer, there is no way to block them since the recent privacy change, other than creating a ticket. Allow logged in users to view any user account page existing or not, and have the block/trust button available, without any other info.

I can only guess what the support tickets are. And these are some of issues I can think of that would be common, and how to reduce them.
