Preparedness; Are you liquid? Cryptocurrency and gold
Preparation is something you should have done yesterday. As we approach 2017, the king of the marketplace will be liquidity, but that doesn't mean holding a pallet of dollars. I give you five necessities below that you should have accomplished already if you are on steemit. If not, what the hell are you doing? Aggressively attack this list.
Clean water
Do you have a plan for water? I am an automation technician by trade, and I promise you clean water is not a given during a currency collapse. If you are in the city, clean water is dependent on your government run utility to obtain the factors of production; Chlorine, valve parts, pump seals, etc. All of these must be bought, shipped, and installed. Competition for these may be tough when the fiat begins to go south. Do yourself a favor and store ten gallons of water to give you some time if shit hits the fan. At the minimum, carry a lifestraw (which I'll leave you to google).
Food
Same as above, but much easier to accomplish. I recommend purchasing brown rice and bean mix (the kind with peas for green stuff) equivalent to six months worth of food. You would be surprised how long ten dollars of these two staples will last you. If you don't like them, just keep them in the cabinet.
Most overlooked are your toiletries. Go purchase them now. The girl I am dating is probably giving me the wtf look at my cabinets filled with stacks of toothpaste, soap, and toilet paper. These often overlooked necessities will be hard to find in a crises, case study -Venezuela.
Guns
Third in line for this list of needs are firearms and ammunition. Protection of life and property are essentials. I live in Texas, and this is probably well over emphasized here. I talk to numerous people that say they will be able to barter bullets for food in a breakdown. I'm not so sure, and supply and demand dictates the more rednecks with bullets there are, the less those bullets are worth. Have a few guns in different calibers and a few boxes of ammo. No need to go crazy here.
Cryptocurrency
Simply put, liquidity. Nothing moves as fast as cryptocurrency. I was completely mistaken about the power of this necessity and have been hesitant to get into the game for years. Even though the Dollar Vigilante;
https://steemit.com/@dollarvigilante
has been hounding us all about it, I elected to cling to my gold and miss countless opportunities. At the very minimum, diversify a small amount into cryptocurrency and have accounts created on different exchanges. A position in bitcoin is a must for any proper gentleman. BTC has way more to run given economic instability, and it is now trading above 605 USD. Other speculative opportunities exist for a more savvy investor in the Cryptocurrency arena.
Gold
Preservation of wealth is the mission of Gold. The oldest and most valuable currency the world has ever known. A deliberate accumulation of gold should be one of the main reasons a man works. This tool allows you to pass generations of labor equivalent to your children, and establish a dynasty in the long run.
More in depth articles on liquidity in the future.
Families have been made by holding easily convertible assets in times of crisis. Others have been destroyed by putting faith in governments and their fiat. Don't be the later.

6 Months food and toiletries
1 week minimum, on-hand clean water
3 different caliber guns and ammunition

6 months expense equivalent in silver, your wealth in gold.
American gold eagles are fantastic to look at. Artistic masterpieces. Even if I was a "prepper" holding gold, I'd hate to give them away in a shit-hit-the-fan scenario ahahaha...
The gold is for my future children. The silver i keep is for shit hitting the fan ;D Thank you for the comments. Those gold eagles are actually mine! Had to get that photo tilt!
Yeah silver is probably the most liquid form of shtf currency. Gold is an overkill anyway :D
Keep them safe... they are awesome... and the pic is awesome too. You can see the surface "terrain" heh... cartwheel also visible.
Haha. Maybe i'll do a silver post tomorrow. Stay tuned my friend, and best of luck on your own posts :).
So the long-awaited, terrible crush-of-the-century is really coming very soon!
It seems to me that the beloved governments & central bankers are doing their best to prolong it or prevent it.
I understand that such fake propping of economies won't be sustainable, & at some point of their choosing, the crush will come.
Not quite sure how 6 months expense in silver be useful since it may not be so liquid as people would prefer foods & jobs.
Anyways, looking forward for in depth articles on liquidity specially in gold & silver.
