We can build Heaven here -- We just have to know what it looks like

C.S. Lewis said it (and I'll paraphrase): If one is on her way to heaven, her experience here on earth will be seen to be just the beginning of that heaven, and if one is on his way to hell, his experience on earth is just the beginning of that hell. For those of us who are heaven bound, why not envision how to begin building our Heaven-on-Earth?

To do that, we need to know what it would look like. For one thing, it is a place that honors our highest values: Love, Justice, Truth, Mercy, Beauty,....

Modprobe's post about SegWit said something really important. It can be found here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/.../i-looked-into-segwit-and-here-s-what-i-saw. He evaluated the Bitcoin fork and the process around acceptance of SegWit. He noted that there was intellectual bullying going on and rightly pointed out there was no place in a discussion about an open source project for that kind of behavior. He is absolutely right, and whatever heaven-on-earth looks like, it is a place where that kind of behavior doesn't belong. Why invest in currency built on a process like that? It seems to me that if Heaven-on-Earth has a coin, it won't be Bitcoin.

I like the spirit of Bitcoin Cash -- the group that stayed behind. They behave as though their stance was principled and visionary. They are respectful of the majority opinion but gently differ from it. Their website at https://www.bitcoincash.org is simple, direct and clear. I like the way this group behaves. That's worth a lot to me, and so after reading modprobe's post, I want to support Bitcoin Cash over Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash may not end up being the be-all or end-all of cryptocurrency. Steem might end up in that special role, but I believe we should be creative about thinking how it is we add value to a currency. If Bitcoin Cash is built with its heart in the right place, then it deserves our honoring it by buying it or holding onto it. Isn't that the way we think Heaven-on-Earth should operate?

*...the Blessed will say "We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven, : and the Lost, "We were always in Hell." And both will speak truly.”
