I think that it is asking for some big volume to shift from alt coins back to Bitcoin, so that we can try new highs... What do you think of this? Do you think it will be this time that we'll see another bull run up?

The bitcoin/BTC had more than 60% of total Market Cap. So nowaday (at the moment that I wrote that) it's to 33,9%, It means that others king have been rising against this domination.
The bitcoin/BTC still keeping a king, but certainly it kingdom will be divided with others kings.

True, the competition is there and it is good to invest in the others, too. But if you don't have a lot of money, then focus on the king first.
Bitcoin will regain it once forgotten lands with the LN!

It's so hard to say--my gut feeling is that the influx of new investors to start the new year will dry up, and BTC--along with the other most prominent coins--will start climbing again. So maybe February?
