in #bitcoin7 years ago

We decided since the MinerGate Chat Rules are kinda hidden in MinerGate's FAQ, we will take a moment to talk about them.

MinerGate chat rules

To keep the friendly and clean environment at MinerGate, we have come up with these Chat rules. Please follow them and respect each other. Any offenders will be banned from the Chat.

These rules apply to all chat rooms, please take them into consideration before posting anything. This will prevent any confusion, so if you have any doubts about what you are going to post, take a quick look upon them first.

  1. Please respect other members and do not discriminate other users in chat. Tell a moderator OR admin if you feel your opinions/views/beliefs and feelings have not be respected appropriately by other members.
  2. We ask you to refrain from posting any links to the exchanges other than Changelly. Doing so may lead you to a ban.
  3. Each day new members join crypto world and MinerGate – this is great, it makes the system safer. Welcome new folks and lend them a helping hand. The sooner they get involved and learn the ropes, the better our community will be.
  4. If moderators OR admin ask you to refrain from posting something in the Chat, please respect their wish and stop.
  5. We know that we are a multi-national community, that’s why we have several chat rooms on MinerGate for different languages, so please use the language appropriate to the specific chat room.
  6. No advertising of any sort is allowed in the Chat. You can post informative links, like links to some videos or articles related to the discussion but please don’t litter the site with referral links. This will most likely lead you to a ban.
  7. Do not impersonate support members of MinerGate or claim to have any special influence with our team.
  8. Asking account details of other members of the project is forbidden. You can share personal information in order to communicate privately with other chat members, such as your ICQ or Skype addresses etc., but never any information that can put any account in danger. Also, note that nobody from MinerGate will ever ask your password or account details.
  9. Please do not use capitals if not necessary to emphasize something. Other members may interpret it as shouting.
  10. Please refrain from swearing excessively. It can be used sometimes in reason and moderation but please mind other members of the Chat. If they are offended in some way and want you to stop, please respect them and do so.
  11. Nobody likes flooding, so keep your posting at human-readable pace and don’t draw

Ok now we have covered the MinerGate Chat Rules, let's go over some common chat etiquette. Just some simple tips to help you and everyone else be a better community member.

  1. Do not ask how much a person makes. You wouldn't walk down the street, stop a stranger, and ask him how much he makes every day. It's just not polite. If a person discloses their payment info, that is perfectly fine.
  2. Help new miners, do not mentally bash them for not knowing what to do. Everyone started somewhere, including myself and other respected members of the community. Best way anyone can learn about something they are interested in, is ask - So be supportive.
  3. Do not come in the Chat angry. Anytime anyone is upset, mad, or irritated, they say stuff they do not mean. Every Moderator in the chat you talk to is a volunteer. They have no access to anything other then to mute/ban the public when they get "Out of Control". (Ahhhh, this all makes sense now!) They are only here to help, best way to get something fixed in your account is by contacting MinerGate Support via Ticket System or Email.
  4. Do not troll, or cause issues. Yes, trust us. We get it. It's VERY hard to not troll the innocent new miners that come in looking for guidance, and end up leaving confused, mad, sad, or even broken pride. Or even troll the Moderators/Admins cause, "Why the hell not?!". That could very much discourage someone from quitting mining cryptocurrency all together if they think, "Everyone mining is a @**hole.". We are a Community, we want to build our Community, not destroy it. So We (Both MinerGate & Private-Locker) do not tolerate such actions.
More will be added to this as people continue to break and bend rules. We as a community try to make this place and MinerGate the most enjoyable experience possible. - From the moment of discovering cryptocurrency, to the time of helping new people learn. We aim for the highest expectations.
