I ordered some items from Ubuy and was invoiced ZAR1156.99 However, Ubuy then put a debit through against my debit card for ZAR1209.66. My first loss of ZAR52.67. When I queried this their response was that it is currency exchange charges from my bank and that I should query it with my bank. I then wanted to cancel and they said that there would be an USD8.00 charge as the "seller" (whoever that might be) has already started to process the order. Once again I objected but persisted that they cancel the order without additional charges. They eventually cancelled the order and refunded me with USD70.95 ($78.95 -$8.00 - according to them) which was reflected as ZAR1109.29 in my bank account. Total loss to me: ZAR100.27. Big problem is that they invoice you in ZAR and charge you in USD. Not legal in my books. Reporting them to the Consumer Council.
