Personally I don't think BCC will overtake BTC, however a lot of people made speculations in the past that were proved wrong with cryptocurrencies like Ethereum. Realistically you need to look into the uses of BCC to see if its worth it. BTC is just the market leader because it was the first. Ethereum has some practical uses, same with Ripple.
