I wonder if the total value of Bitcoin + Bitcoin Cash will be higher or lower than the value of Bitcoin before the split. Factoring in the uncertinty, my guess would be lower. If it's wouldn't be, buying Bitcoin now might be a good investment as it will give you a stake in both coins.
Still, this is quite scary and I feel it might actually lead to a crash in all altcoins including Steem.
