Yesterday @gniksivart asked me "How many Bitcoins do you think are missing?".
Its a tricky question as nobody can predict the exact number.

In March 2015, 14 million Bitcoins were said to be in circulation.
As of June 2017, it reached a total circulation amount of 16.4 million coins, which is about 78% of the total amount of
Bitcoins that there ever will be in existence.

According to an estimate, Out of these 16.4 million Bitcoins, around 4 million (or 25%) have been lost.

As we know, Bitcoin's issuance will stop when the number reaches a total of 21 million
bitcoins (in existence), but the number of actual active Bitcoins will be far lower than that amount
because of these missing coins.

Now BTC can be lost due to a number of reasons like
forgotten wallets, hardware failure, Someone hacking your details, irrecoverable passwords or private keys,
Intentionally β€œBurning” BTC, death of the bitcoin owner or even sometimes by a simple goof up
like sending bitcoins to an unowned address, where the BTC would be transferred but be lost forever.

Unfortunate incidents like these have caused around 4 million Bitcoins to be lost forever
and as they say, its almost impossible to recover them.

I shared this with my brother who laughed it off by saying -

"seems like the future treasure hunting will be all about recovering those lost coins"

hmm...Interesting! Let me know what you think.

Lets start a treasure hunt by finding bitcoins

Let's GO😎

Very unlikely to find them, but if you want you can look for them with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickben22.bitcoinlotto

what would you use to look for them a bitcoin wallet address dictionary hashing scrip? would you just keep a program running that is constantly generating random wallet addresses till you find one isn't there also like key words and stuff you have to type in if its not your registered by ip address account? I am not sure you can recover lost bitcoins from lost wallets. I am not expret but its a whole diffrent world much harder to brute force a bitcoin wallet its diffrent then an email password.what would you use? there are dirty ways phishing and false log pages etc but that isn't finding lost wallets that is hacking existing accounts which usually entails placing some spyware keylog payload on some poor persons phone or pc. big difference then looking for coins not sure if you can scrape a blockchain after the coins been mined.

I don't think we can recover them , until or unless we have keys to the wallet , blockchain is pretty Secured .

Repetitive issues about stolen bitcoins has been going on over the years. And the support of most wallets or crypto-exchange ain't even helpful when it comes to resolving our situations. The only saving grace we always end up with is going through the deepweb. If you're going through any crypto misery or loss of wallet or crypto related issue also then this Tor link will be helpful for you i guess https://venomthreads.com . If all wallets and exchange platforms can't be vouched for or guaranteed to deliver i think they shouldn't be allowed to offer services.
