This isn't the first time China has done this and I doubt it will be the last. I can't help but think this is intentional on the part of some of their elites, as seems to be well highlighted by the Ark coin. It could also be a way to control internal power struggles. By only informing some of their elites who are more 'loyal' to the cause.

It seems rather dumb that they would want to close themselves off to this burgeoning crypto industry, especially in the face of having big market shares in things like Bitcoin mining.
Perhaps they will reconsider, or perhaps Bitshares will be the new Chinese favorite!
