I'm really excited and I think we could be headed for a breakout. I looked back to the last time Bitcoin was fighting the 10,000 dollar resistance line and I saw a dip similar to the one we're experiencing right now. This dip was followed by the massive breakout that eventually led to a 17,000 dollar Bitcoin. This makes me hopeful for the near future of Bitcoin but I'm still trying to remain vigilant on watching the price.
A Running List of Critical Lightning Network Defects solved by Bitcoin Cash
After Andreas talk about hot wallets, it got me thinking about the list of terrible flaws in LN that are so incredibly glaring that bitcoin core community has completely ignored:
It requires target lightning node to be up (if its down you can't connect)In a large-scale LN implementation, the cheapest and fastest routing of LN payments is np-hard (among the most algorithmically inefficient problems in computer science)
Creates the possibility of a Man in the middle attack when the distance between nodes >= 3 (which is all useful cases essentially)
Requires hot wallet which is hackable to receive payments as opposed to BTC wallet which can be on a sheet of paper
You still have to open and close LN channel on the block which is2 tx (on a very expensive blockchain)
Centralization of nodes/hubs that can be shut down by the government to disrupt the network.
Yeah! what people don't understand about bitcoin is that they failed to realized that unlike other currencies traded on the forex market, bitcoin also do a kind of swing the same way other cirrencies does. It can never continue to go up without reversing. Same way it can never continue to go down without going up. I have been in the currency market for over 5 years. so i know what it takes.
